Eczema is a group of skin disorders and may also be called dermatitis. The most common type is called atopic dermatitis and this occurs among infants and young children. Although quite discomforting, at least eczema is not contagious.

Usually, people with this skin disorder feels itchy and experiences redness on the skin. The skin may also be flaky and dry. There may also be blisters and some inflammation on the skin.
